One of my users has had this twice in the last week. It's very embarrassing when thousands of emails are sent to a client. Today I've advised that they do a "repair" to their zco installation but it's yet to be seen whether this will prevent it happening again.
Does anyone know of any way it's possible to do a kind of reverse spam filter to prevent the same email being sent to the same address more than x times in any given period ?
We've been working with support on this for almost two months as it has happened numerous times. And yes, it is very embarrassing, especially when spams are sent by our CIO and our HelpDesk. They have us trying a new version of the connector which is supposed to prevent duplicates messages from being sent by the client: ZimbraConnectorOLK_220.127.116.1148_x86.
How hopeful are you that 7.1.4 is / will work ?
Is there not some temporary measure that could be taken to prevent this ?
Why is there no bug report for this ? To me this is a serious problem.
Or am I missing something ?
what fixed it
After much mucking around re-installing the connector, running updates on the zimbra server etc with no success, we eventually thought ok this has to be something to do with the pc not the server, as all other pcs were working fine with no problems.
Re-formatted the pc workstation, re-installed the same version of windows and office and the problem has not shown itself again for around 6 weeks now, so we are pretty confident it is fixed.
Knowing now it is a computer workstation issue, you may be able to try some other things like completely removing all files for office from the machine and re-installing this only, not only removing the program but also running one of those programs that scans the drive for preference files and left overs from the install ( we had just re-installing office before also ).
I hope this helps some what... I usually hate having to re-install windows and only do it as a last resort but in this case was the only thing left to try.
I have had a feeling it's an issue with the individual machine, none of the others have this problem. Also when I look at the server logs there's no error, the server is just carrying out what is requested of it.
Unfortunately the one machine is owned by the MD and he's the one who handles all the clients.
As I have said I have had him do a repair but he has lost a certain amount of confidence, at least until I can reassure him I know what the problem is.
I still don't get why there's no bug report for this. I'm out of office for most of today but will create one later if there isn't one open.
remember all the shared tasks, contacts and calendars are on the server so none of that will be lost be re-formatting or re-installing windows. Ours was Windows Vista 64bit running 32bit Office 2010 professional I think

It says it's fixed but I can't work out if /when the fix will be released
