Default Certificate Change Kicks Moto Q off of SSL Synch

    Need some help!

My wife and I have Motorola Q's that up until a security certificate update, worked just fine on the Zimbra wireless synch in SSL. Now that the change has ocurred we have an invalid certificate issue and can no longer use SSL. If we disable SSL, everything works fine, but that is not my preference.

There apparently "was" a utility called SSL Chain Saver available that would allow you to extract a root certificate from the Zimbra server which would then allow you to install the certificate to the device via ActiveSync.

According to our provider, it's nothing we've done, but apparently no one else is having the issue (not sure if that means they are using Q's without SSL on ZCS).

Anyone else experience this or hear about something like this?

    Thanks!

With the help of jholder, the sslchain utility has been found...the wiki has been updated with the appropriate information and download link:

    Default SSL Chain Saver

    Thank you!

Unfortunately, I now have a .Net Framework issue (need to install v2,0,50727) that I need to learn how to resolve.

    Thanks again!

    Exclamation

can anyone run this FOR me? lol ... I tried using mono on Linux but it uses something not implemented by mono:

    Code:
    # mono SslChainSaver.exe

SslChainSaver - Creates certificate install XML for Windows Mobile devices
    Usage:
        SslChainSaver <site name> <port name>

    Example:
        SslChainSaver exchange.mycorp.com
        SslChainSaver sip.mycorp.com 5061

The tool will make an SSL connection to the specified site and write out the certificate chain
    for the server.
at least it runs ... kind of:

    Code:
    # mono SslChainSaver.exe mail.bangtherockstogether.net
Unexpected failure: The requested feature is not implemented.
