Blocking Unknown Devices
I've been looking around for an option to do this, but I can't seem to find one anywhere.
I'm looking for a way to be able to have a list of approved devices for activesync.
Some of our users have company supplied iPhones, so we want them to be able to use activesync (and hence can't turn off the mobile devices connection for them), but we would like to be able to stop them from (for example) hooking up a non company supplied iPad or Android phone.
Is there a way to limit activesync to certain device ids ?
Welcome to the forums :)
I would check Bugzilla Main Page - Zimbra and if an RFE does not exist then please create one.
I agree, that could be useful in some contexts. If you create an RFE, please post the number here. Thanks.
There are a few items in the documentation around mobile security policies, but I haven't worked with them. Maybe this will help? Setting up Mobile Device Security Policies
Thanks for that reference, but those features still assume that any mobile device connected to an activesync enabled account is authorized, which is not the outcome I am looking for here.

Looking through the RFE, Bug 43845 – limit number of mobile devices per account would help me I believe, because limiting to x authorized devices (assuming you could select the authorized devices by device ID and it isn't just a first come first served system) would allow us to only allow company supplied devices to connect with active sync.
