    Sorry for the late answer.

    Yes, it is possible.
I made a zimlet for the French Zimbra forums that allow you to save one mail at a time, and the file downloaded is the mail in eml format.

Here is the download link :
    starxpert_save_eml.zip

    Hi,

we use Zimbra for 2 month as a managed service. We use the up to date version.
Before Zimbra we used a very simple mail system with Mozilla Thunderbird as Clienttool.
Now we use the Web client and ZD Client.
I decided for Zimbra because of the flexibility and the modern ways of use in comparison with MS Exchange.
Now i hope my expectations will be fulfilled.
We need a possibility to drag emails from Zimbra directly into the file-system or into our PLM System. I Thought the starxpert zimlet can do this, but i have no idea how to use it in ZD Client. I've already downloads the zip file from above to save a mail as eml, but how can I use this? The Zimlet is listed in ZD Client, but when i click it there comes only a short screen with OK and abort.

    Can you please help me?
    Thanks.

I suppose you talk about the zimlet starxpert_save_eml.
Then you must not click on it, but drag and drop a mail (not a conversation) on it.

PS: I updated the zimlet to remove the useless preference screen.

    Hi,
the Zimlet doesn't work for me.
The onliest thing I've done was copying the zip-file from your post 65 to the Zimlets Folder of Zimbra Desktop on my PC. After starting ZD, the Zimlet appears, but when I drag a single mail onto it, nothing happens. The frame around the mail stays red.

Did I make a mistake on installing or do I have to consider anything else?

I even don't know, whether this Zimlet is the best for me.
The function I really need is to drag mails directly from the ZD client or the webclient to a filesystem or PLM System without any intermediate step. The mail should be saved as eml-file. Also a drag&drop function for attachments out of zimbra would be great.

Can you give me some informations, how i can reach this?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

You should take care about what you drag and drop. Is it a mail, or a conversation?
The zimlet allow the drag'n'drop of mail only.
Also, this zimlet allow you to download a mail as a file in eml format.
Not to drag a mail out of the web-browser window to drop it on a filesystem navigator window

    Hi.
I only try to drag a single mail on the Zimlet. But nothing happens.
Is there a default destination, where the eml is stored or should there be a dialog?

Is there a known solution for drag a mail directly into a filesystem? Maybe another zimlet or something? The description of your StarXpert:Save Zimlet in the Zimlet gallery sounds like it could solve my problem. But is it useable with Zimbra Desktop?
