    how, in zimbra, do you send out an appointment reminder automatically..

    so basically someone comes in for an appointment, then an appointment is created on the calendar, and then... the person is sent an email (like 24 hours) before the appointment saying if they will accept or decline the appointment.


    how do u do this in Zimbra?

    When you say "a person comes in for an appointment" I take it to mean that this person does not own the calendar where the appt. is being created, and it is more like a person external to your company that needs to "participate" in some event; sort of like a doctor's office where patients are scheduled. Right?

    If that's the case, I think a simple solution would be to ask that person for an email address (preferably one that they check often), and then add them as an attendee to their appointment. The appointment gets created with the appropriate reminder and this person gets and invitation that they can accept/decline.

    yes exactly that... but...

    the invitation gets sent out 24 hours before the appointment...

    so the office creates the appointment.. and then a reminder email with, accept, decline... etc... gets sent out 24 hours after it is scheduled not immediately after.

    Ok. I don't think that there's a way to automatically do this, though I admit it would be a cool feature to have. Perhaps it can be done via a Zimlet, I don't really know.

    One thing you can do "in the meantime" is, using ZCS7, you can create the appointments and choose the "Save" option to create them but not send out invites and then, manually, the day before you would open the appointment and then select "Send". Just a suggestion, I know it would help (a lot) if it was done for you, but still...

    yea it seems like this would be easy to setup... but why does it not work?
