Well, I've tryed using the console and deploying the zimlet... it tells me that deploying it works ok, but I can't seem to find it in the admin interface as module installed. Done the same thing for google maps and everything works just fine.

    Thanks

Maybe you've already found the solution, but I've just had exactly the same issue.
The problem come from the archive, all the files are in a directory 'com_zimlet_gtranslator', and it seems that Zimbra wants the files under the root directory of the archive.
To correct it, I've unpacked the Zimlet zip archive and repacked it without any directory.

I'm having the same error message when trying to translate text. "An error occurred attempting to translate this message."

This happens when typing in text or dragging a conversation. I also don't see any javascript errors...

Has anyone found a solution to this?

    Thanks,

To those with the error when translating; have you configured the proxy service to permit requests to Google?

Try this, replacing COSNAME with the name of the COS to which you will allow Google Translator:

    Code:
    zmprov mc COSNAME zimbraProxyAllowedDomains "*.google.com"

Does that command wipe out the other domains previously listed as allowed? When I get one to work the other stop working...

Can I list more than one domain in that command? Such as...

    Code:
    zmprov mc SAMPLECOS zimbraProxyAllowedDomains "*.google.com, *.yahoo.com, *.amazon.com"

    Try this:

    Code:
zmprov mc SAMPLECOS zimbraProxyAllowedDomains "*.google.com" zimbraProxyAllowedDomains "*.yahoo.com" zimbraProxyAllowedDomains "*.amazon.com"
    zmcontrol stop;zmcontrol start
