Is Zimbra expected to be released for modern OS versions?

Postby alexandrefrolov » Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:35 am

Hello!
As far as I understand, Zimbra server can only be installed on Ubuntu 18, which is no longer supported (or other legacy Linux builds).
Can you please tell me if Zimbra is planned to be released for the current OS versions, and if so, in what time frame?
Thank!

Ubuntu 18.04 is LTS.
That means Long Term Support.
That means supported for 5 years, till 2023.

Zimbra can be installed on other distributions as well so I don't know why you're talking about 'legacy linux builds' when it's available for these systems:

Although CentOS8 is now going EOL at the end of 2021 there are two replacements in the pipeline that will be the same a CentOS8 i.e. a bug-for-bug rebuild of the RHEL version and assuming Zimbra builds for RHEL it should also work on those new builds.

Are there any plans to support Ubuntu Server 20.04 LTS?
2023 is coming soon...

'd have to ask Zimbra that question as they don't bother posting in these forums or giving advanced notice about anything.
